While out Bass fishing on Lake George with friends I noticed an odd red boat coming close to us. As it approached we were surprised to see car and I snapped this photo with my Nikon D610. I did some Googling and found out from Wikipedia that it’s a rare Amphicar that was only manufactured from 1961-1967. It was built by the Quandt Group and they planned to sell 20,000 of them per year. They fell extremely short and only 3,878 were produced by the time the company failed. Another interesting surprise was throwing out my first cast and landing a solid Bass around the 12 inch mark. A day on the lake, you never know what you’re going to see.
